Hospitality Table Cornwall is an innovative ESF funded project delivered by Truro and Penwith College, working with like-minded employers from the Cornish Hospitality and Tourism sectors to create initiatives that raise career aspirations, increase recruitment, and develop bespoke approaches to learning to improving skills, productivity and quality. Make the most of it while such funding is still in place.
Following on from the first forum at Truro in October 2018, the second forum is coming to Budehaven School in March 2019. With the project covering the whole of Cornwall, this is a chance for guests in the north and east of Cornwall to hear about the project’s short and long-term plans for the future while seeing how the project can work with employers to benefit businesses and the industry as a whole.
The team visited Budehaven School in January to speak to students about the career opportunities available while delivering a demo to three groups. All students interested in hospitality could watch the demo, taste the delicious food prepared by the chef and ask any questions to the experts. This visit sparked the interest to host the next forum at the school while incorporating the students into the business engagement.
A complimentary afternoon tea for the forum will be made and served by students at Budehaven School under the supervision of professional chefs and the FOH team; this will help businesses to engage with local school students looking to invest into their futures.
