Inspiring Hospitality Leaders at fully-funded sell-out course

Inspiring Hospitality Leaders at fully-funded sell-out course

A fully-funded course, designed and delivered by Hospitality Table Cornwall, Truro and Penwith College and local employers ran it’s first two cohorts in October, aiming to upskill current hospitality leaders.

Businesses such as The Headland Hotel & Spa, The Scarlet, Hotel Tresanton, The Greenbank, The Alverton and The Penventon all worked with the European part-funded project to tailor a course around staff members wanting further development to their roles.

The three-day course was hosted by each hotel with different guest speakers at every venue, ensuring attendees could get an insight into how different businesses operate, and hearing different hospitality journeys from senior members of staff including general managers, operation managers and business owners.

Attendees of the course said they enjoyed finding out how other businesses ran and seeing their different styles of working. Business delegates left the course feeling more confident, inspired and prepared for leading their teams and optimising their businesses.

Karen Baxter, General Manager of Hotel Tresanton was a guest speaker on the course.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to have been involved with the Inspirational Hospitality Leaders course run by Hospitality Table Cornwall, Truro & Penwith College and other seasoned leaders from the industry in Cornwall.  Having been in the industry for a great number of years it has become a personal passion to nurture and develop the next generation of leaders, to provide them with a functional set of skills for their toolbox as they take their next step on their exciting journey.

This new course delivers on the mandate, it gives the candidates an opportunity to learn and/or develop skills that will serve them well on their personal leadership journeys.  Having been invited to speak at one of the learning days it was wonderful to see the course being delivered to this cohort and a joy to see them all engaging with each other as well as other industry professionals.  Well done everyone!”

As well as inspiring attendees to feel motivated and empowered in their role, the course allowed all attendees to obtain and ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management award) which supported them to better understand leadership, their teams and their roles while growing and developing as a leader.
