The need for more publication in schools and colleges is gaining traction across the country and continues to remain a part of Hospitality Table Cornwall’s ethos. Just this week, Michelin Star chef Tom Aikens was on Sky News discussing the need for schools to encourage careers in hospitality. With The Caterer also recently reporting that school-aged children and recent leavers have ruled-out a career in the industry, the importance of inspiring young people to join the industry has never been more important; which is why we are delighted to be launching our Host Summer Programme on Wednesday 29th May.
The four-day event provides people of all ages with the chance to experience many aspects of the hospitality industry before they are guaranteed an interview with one of our partnered Cornish businesses for a PAID summer job. The hands-on course will provide learners with a unique insight into the industry and help bust the myths surrounding it.
“With businesses like Nancarrow Farm, Appletons, Bodmin Jail and Sam’s In The City all being a part of this fantastic experience, we really hope to inspire these learners to join the sector. Being able to offer this experience fully-funded with a guaranteed interview with some of Cornwall’s top hospitality businesses is just the start of how we hope to inspire and educate the next generation about the industry we’re so proud to be a part of,” Matt Davis, Hospitality Table Cornwall Coordinator said.
We still have a small number of spaces available and anyone 16 or over with an interest in hospitality can sign up and attend. For more information and to sign up please visit https://htchost.eventbrite.co.uk or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
