Fully-funded courses, employer-led forums and one-to-one business engagement; that’s exactly what the ESF part-funded employer initiative Hospitality Table Cornwall is bringing to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and it’s hosting its next forum in just under two weeks’ time.
Hospitality Table Cornwall was born in 2018 and has already held two forum and designed and developed 14 fully-funded courses with help from Cornish employers off the back of their forums and events; including Butchery Skills at Nancarrow Farm, Quality Cocktail Making at various venues (which sold out in 24 hours!) and Social Media in Hospitality hosted by hospitality marketing expert Dawn Gribble, who appeared on MasterChef in 2014.
The project engages with businesses from across the country on a daily basis to find out about their skills gaps, recruitment opportunities while working together to find ways to help their businesses become more efficient – all of which can be put into tailored courses and events, which other businesses can also thrive from.
Hospitality Table Cornwall will be running their next employer forum on 13 May from 11am-2pm at Tregenna Castle in St Ives to focus on businesses in the local area. All businesses attending are welcome to speak to members of the team, network with other employers and get involved with an interactive forum hosted by the project’s Coordinator Matt Davis.
Project Coordinator Matt Davis said: “We hold these forums as a way to get a number of businesses together to discuss collectively what we need to do with our funding in order to benefit the people who shape our Cornish hospitality and tourism industry.
While finding out about some of your struggles as a business or with the industry as a whole, we take these away in addition to your suggestions to develop fully-funded tailored initiatives that you can attend and be a part of. As an employer-led project, our decisions and actions are based solely on your input and we recommend attending our forums if you have the chance.”
The forum is FREE for businesses to attend and you can book members of your business on by visiting https://htcforumtregenna.eventbrite.co.uk. For more information about Hospitality Table Cornwall please visit the website on www.hospitalitytablecornwall.co.uk or call 01872 308197.
